Nayanthara and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan have sealed the knot, capping up a storybook romance that began on the set of a film in 2015. The lovebirds chose a small wedding in Chennai for the most important day of their life, which is full of bridal inspiration. The diva, who was dressed in a statuesque all-red sari by JADE by Monica and Karishma and covered with Goenka India ornaments, created an impactful ensemble that will last for decades. Vignesh Shivan, a well-known writer-director and a prominent actor in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films, and the two make an appealing couple. They married in Mahabalipuram at a beautiful venue, and Vignesh even shared a photo of the decor on his Instagram story with the caption #WikkiNayan. Nayanthara looked stunning in a JADE by Monica and Karishma custom-made handcrafted vermillion crimson saree. Unlike her contemporaries, the bride did not choose a Sabyasachi creation, which was a breath of fresh air. “The elaborately realised tone on tone embroidery is inspired by the carvings of the temples of Hoysala,” the designers wrote on Instagram. Monica & Karishma reinterpreted Goddess Lakshmi motifs as bajubandh on the sleeves of the blouse as a respectful tribute to the actor’s love for tradition. The Fourth Vow, which runs across the ensemble and is personalised with the couple’s names, represents unity, commitment, and mutual respect.

The Lady Superstar opted for layers of emerald jewellery, which wowed internet users. The jewellery included the Goenka India Signature Satlada, which had seven lines of diamonds, rose cuts, Polki, and emeralds in a historical setting, as well as the Goenka India Signature Zambian emerald choker, polki, and big Russian tumble necklace. Heritage polki and Cabochon emerald studs in the ears, as well as an emerald and diamond maang tika, complemented the appearance.

In traditional Tamil clothing, the groom looked dapper. He was dressed in an Ek Taar shawl with exquisite embroidery. “The groom, Vignesh Shivan’s ensemble connects with the four pheras denoting Dharma, Arth, Kama, and Moksha,” Monica and Karishma said on JADE’s Instagram page. He’s dressed in a veshti, kurta, and shawl made by JADE atelier’s master craftsmen.”

A few hours before the wedding, the director had also shared some snaps from his personal gallery, with the much-in-love couple exuding romance like none other.
He wrote, “Thanking God, the universe, the Goodwill from all the lovely human beings who have crossed My life !! Every good soul, every good moment, every good coincidence, every good blessing, every day at shooting and every prayer that has made life this beautiful! Earlier, he revealed that the song “Thangamey”, which he wrote for his movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, is his first gift to Nayanthara. It is on the sets of this film that romance bloomed between Vignesh and Nayanthara. He also said Nayanthara looks best in a saree, and the secret of her beauty is her prayers.
Actors around the South industry and Bollywood graced the wedding of the couple, Bollywood superstar and Nayanthara’s co-star in Jawan, Shahrukh Khan was spotted at the event, and many netizens trolled the actor on his presence referring to his health.
