Jewellry Travel Tips When You’re A Big Jewelry Wearer April 29, 2019 – Posted in: Blog

Regardless if you’re a man or a woman, you will probably agree that your closet will never be complete without jewellery. The right pieces of jewellery can make your outfit stand out, even if it’s just a plain shirt, jeans, and sneakers. You might not even leave the house unless you have a pair of earrings, necklace or bracelet on. Jewellery is important, which is why you would want to take them anywhere with you, especially during your travels. After all, you would want to stand out no matter the location, right?

Having a travel lifestyle shouldn’t hinder you from bringing jewellery. Jewellery is usually small, which makes them very easy to carry around and slip into any bag. But on the other side of the coin, its size can have several setbacks as well. Jewellery can be easily lost or misplaced. To avoid these and ensure that you get to wear your jewellery even when travelling, take note of the following tips:

1. You need to decide what jewellery to bring with you

Sure, you’re a big jewellery wearer, but that doesn’t mean that you should bring every piece you own in your next trip. Wearing your favourite piece of jewellery during your once-in-a-lifetime travel experience can be great, but there are a lot of reasons why you should only bring the ones that you will be wearing. For one, it’ll be challenging for you to keep track of all of your jewellery if you bring a lot. You can end up losing jewellery that’s expensive or has sentimental value. Your jewellery can also get tangled up or knotted with each other once placed in a single container only.

Before researching for more travel tips, think about what jewellery should you bring. This should be one of the first steps when you’re planning for your trip as it can help you determine what type of luggage to use.

2. You should consider bringing only cheap jewellery

Depending on your itinerary or duration of travel, consider bringing only cheap jewellery with you. If possible, avoid bringing jewellery that are expensive or sentimental to you. Choosing to bring cheap jewellery can lessen your worries and stress, making it easy for you to actually enjoy your trip!

3. You need to make a list

If you’re planning to travel for weeks and bring jewellery with you, a list is necessary. This is an easy way for you to monitor your jewellery and determine if any are missing. Once you’ve decided what jewellery to bring, list everything as you pack. If possible, indicate where you’ve placed this jewellery, too. You can also take pictures or videos of your jewellery to assess its condition before and after your travel.

4. You need to pack your jewellery right

One of the challenges of bringing jewellery is making sure that it doesn’t get tangled or knotted. As a traveller, your jewellery should be ready the moment you need to wear it. To achieve this goal, pack your jewellery in the right way. You can do this by using a jewellery travel case, pearl folders or jewellery pouches. If you’re fond of using necklaces, using straws can be an excellent idea. If you already planned the jewellery you’re going to wear throughout the week of your trip, use a pill box.

5. You should keep it close at all times

Aside from making sure that your jewellery is stored in the best way possible, you also have to keep it close to you at all times. If you’re travelling by plane, your jewellery should be in your carry-on bags, not in the check-in luggage. You can also consider wearing jewellery while on the plane to be more secure. If you’re travelling by bus or boat, place your bags near your seat and keep an eye on them. You should always be attentive to the people around you as well.

The same rule applies when you arrive in your hotel or condo. No matter how tempting it can be, never hand over your jewellery to the staff. If your accommodation provides a safe, use it to store your jewellery.

Your Responsibility Counts

ringing your jewellery in your next trip can be exciting since this can become the perfect opportunity for you to flaunt your unique style and be different from other tourists. However, keep in mind that bringing jewellery is also a big responsibility. You have to make sure that these pieces will not get lost or damaged during your trip, or else your investment in buying all of these pieces will be useless.
