Creative Baby Shower Games That Everyone will Love For 2020 February 6, 2020 – Posted in: Blog
An Unique baby shower can be one of the most memorable pregnancy milestones. New-parent nerves (whether it’s the first, second, or fifth child) are usually in high gear—and for many, a party can be just the thing to help encourage, prepare, and celebrate the growing family. Not only is it a time to relax and celebrate, but also it’s a reminder for the parent or parents-to-be that their lives are full of family and friends ready to help support them through this journey.
When planning a shower, first and foremost, consider what the parent or parents-to-be would want. Are they on the introverted side? Perhaps a smaller, informal gathering would suit them best. Are they usually the life of the party long after a wedding? If so they might have some big expectations! There are endless possibilities for what a funny baby shower could look like, and it will be as unique as the family you are celebrating. Think carefully about what kind of shower would bring the parent or parents-to-be encouragement, joy, and reassurance—even if that shower looks a lot different than yours would!
Since modern baby showers often have games, AuGrav have put together a mix of traditional and nontraditional activities to help get your gears turning. Make sure the games work for your specific shower. Remember that the goal of the event is to create a wonderful memory. Keeping that at the forefront of all your planning will ensure a fantastic celebration.
Decorate The Diaper
Let the new parents know you care — say it with diapers! Pass out newborn diapers and colored Sharpie markers. Then, ask everyone to write funny and sweet messages of encouragement on the front of the nappies. A little comic relief may help ease the frazzled mom and dad through those early sleepless nights. Guests decorate diapers with quotes, lyrics, pictures, anything to get a smile or laugh at 2 a.m.!
Mommy and Daddy’s Secrets
Shower games that quiz the guests of honor are fun because it engages mom and dad while entertaining everyone else. Ask the expecting parents questions separately (e.g. “Who will your baby look like?” “Where were you when you found out the news?”) and then do a Newlywed Game-style reveal.
Baby Food Challenge
This game may sound gross, but it’s fun to see how well family, friends and parents know their baby food flavors. Prepare a few kinds of baby food and have your guests taste them and guess the name of each. Watch those facial expressions and enjoy 🙂 make sure to peel off the labels and write down which numbers correspond to each jar as your answer key. Take turns coming up to the table and give them spoons to taste test the jar and write down the number on the jar and what flavor they think that jar is. After everyone writes down their answers, call out the numbers with the correct flavors. The person who guessed the most flavors correctly, wins.

Spin The Baby Bottle
This is the baby version of truth and dare 🙂 You can pin a paper bottle onto a rounded cardboard with funny challenges written on it, or simply spin a baby bottle while the guests sit in a circle and throw some fun challenges.
Grilling The Dad to Be
Ask the dad-to-be a few questions about parenting on the day of the baby shower. Examples: How many hours should a newborn sleep/ What to do if the baby is crying/ Do you think your baby will be born with a lot of hair/ When can a baby eat solid food? Share the answers at the party. Results can be hilarious!
Guess How Many
To start you’ll need to fill a big baby bottle with colorful candies and have each guest try to guess how many pieces are inside. Whoever guesses closest to the actual number is the winner.
Make sure to count the number of candies that you use. At the end of the party, give a prize to whoever comes the closest. Pastel M&Ms in pale pink, blue or both are great options.
Guess The Baby Animal
Create a list with the names of adult female animals with a blank space next to them. Ask guests to write down the name of the baby animal. For example: Deer = fawn, Pig = piglet. No cellphone cheating allowed! Print out these digital files and have everyone match the names of the babies to their mothers. Some of these are actually pretty hard!

Who’s watching Baby?
As everyone arrives, they each get one baby. The goal of the game is to hold on to your baby, but get anyone else’s, too. People are likely to accidentally drop their babies or put them down somewhere, and forget them. That’s your opportunity to snatch it up. The person with the most babies wins.
These babies in the image below are called kewpie dolls. They’re lovely and tiny – so easy to lose.
Baby showers can be loads of fun, but it still depends on how well you prepare for them. So make sure you exhaust your effort in trying to come up with the right games for your occasion! Themed and modern baby shower games can be a real hoot, taking your typical get-together and turning it into a full-on family experience to remember. If you’re planning to throw a baby shower any time soon, make sure to keep these recommendations in mind to guarantee a fun, laughter-filled event with all the people you love and hold dear.
The new rule for throwing a creative baby shower is that there are no rules: the decor is no longer limited to baby blues and blush, and the invitations can be as sweet or cheeky as you like. Today’s baby shower is less rooted in tradition and more focused on personalizing the party to the guest (or guests) of honor.
Let guests help with the party decor by stringing up colorful cards with advice and well wishes for the parents-to-be. Cut out colorful shapes of your choice — we love these sweet animal shapes! — and let guests choose which card they want. By the end of the party, you’ll have an entire wall of thoughtful advice.
