6 Best Jewellery Trends from Oscars 2017 March 1, 2017 – Posted in: Blog, Lifestyle – Tags: 3D gold pendant, engraved gold coin, gold jewellery
Wow, Oscars are finally over and what an award ceremony it was! A lot has been already said and done about the totally surprising ending of the biggest and the most coveted Movie Awards of the world, when the Best Picture award was wrongly announced. It will definitely be one of the major reasons how Oscars 2017 would be remembered in history.
But, while the ending was full of confusion, surprises, and relief for some, the beginning of the event was a big hit. It was almost like glamour, style, and attitude walked hand in hand on the red carpet. And as jewellery is our weakness, we couldn’t help but admire some bold, intricate and unique jewellery pieces that our celebrities chose to wear for the big night. Here’s our pick of some of the fantastic jewellery spotted at Oscars 2017. Enjoy!
6) Rubies, back in style!
Ruth Negga decided to bring back the good old rubies in the world of glamour and how! Her unique head piece and the beautiful pair of earrings, made from the 146.16 and 37.18 carats of Gemfields Mozambican rubies made a lot of heads turn. Rubies, when paired with diamonds, could give your jewellery a whole new definition of class!
They go perfectly well with most of your attires, but we recommend you use them especially with shades of red, black, and white.

5) The Gold Collar
Who would have thought a collar made from yellow gold fronds could look as stunning as it did on Jessica Biel? This handcrafted gold collar sets the trend for ladies who’d like to add a little oomph to your look. As an alternative, you could also opt for collars of other metals such as silver, white gold, and pair them with diamonds for a little extra flair.
Your collars would make a bold statement all by themselves and therefore they’d go well with solid coloured gowns, sarees, or lehengas.
4) The Diamond Earrings
Yes, that’s right. Could anything ever go wrong with diamond earrings designed elegantly? That’s a classic style and has to work every single time. No matter how old this trend is, it will bedazzle people, just like Charlize Theron, Isabelle Huppert, Amy Adams, and lots of other celebrities did at this year’s Oscars.
The best part about diamond earrings is that they go with all kinds of dresses, traditional or western, and also with almost every possible shade of colour.

3) Diamond Neck Pieces
While we are talking about diamonds earrings, let’s not forget some of the gorgeous ladies who decided to sport beautiful diamond neck pieces. All of them preferred their neck pieces to be intricately designed without being too big or bold.
Whether it was Taraji Henson’s traditionally designed necklace by Nirav Modi, or Kirsten Dunst’s neck piece by Niwaka, or Alicia Vikander’s stunning and elegantly crafted one by Louis Vuitton.

While most of these ladies decided to pair their diamonds with their black outfits, you could practically select any shade out there and be rest assured that your diamond neck piece would be the perfect match for your dress. Diamond is truly the most versatile of them all!
2) The Headbands
Now, this is a completely new trend but looks like it’s here to stay! We did see Ruth Negga’s head piece made from rubies before. But, there were others too, who stylishly flaunted their headbands.
The diamond headband by Salma Hayek made her look just perfect. Paired with a black gown and diamond ear piece, the headband sizzled through her black hair making it a great piece of jewellery for any evening function.
Janelle Monae decided to go with Elie Saab’s ‘Artemisa Crown’, which was designed with Swarovski crystals and brass swirls. The headpiece complemented her Elie Saab gown of the same shades of colour, making her look truly splendid!
1) The Gold Rush
No article on jewellery is ever complete without adding some spark of gold and that’s why we decided to end this post with the metal that’s loved by all. While Viola Davis made us all cry with her speech, we couldn’t help but notice her incredible gold ear pieces. The big gold studs paired with an elegant red gown beautifully graced her look. Emma Stone also sported a gorgeous pair of earrings set in platinum and 18K gold. The earrings truly flattered her look complete with the perfect golden gown. Well, they say gold is auspicious and it definitely was for Viola and Emma at Oscars 2017, as they both won the award!
Ladies, gold, rose gold or kundan jewellery will be a great match for all of your traditional wear such as salwar kameezes, suits, sarees, or lehengas.
Oscars 2017 has been eventful in so many ways, right from the start to the end. As the Oscar fevers is slowly fading away, and as we get back to our normal lives, let’s remind you something.
